Although this collection is very much so still a work in progress, I think that it is well enough under way to give a synopsis of it's purpose. This collection is meant to be a reaction, if you will, to the opression that the imposition of the "Glamour Asthetic" forces upon the lives of women (as well as men, although more specifically the former) in the American society at large. Although this cannot speak for all, as it should not, I feel that these pieces serve as a generalized survey or documentation for those of whom are oppressed by the patriarchical/classicist device, "Glamour."

In my series, I explore the ways in which those in the pursuit of a glamourous life do so under the illusion that it would bring a type of nirvana. This is antithetical to the true definition of the Buddhist Nirvana, in that the literal definition is "to snuff out desire." However, regardless of this contradiction, the glamour monster/victim can reach a type of nirvana, in that the pursuer extinguishes themself in the end; burn out effect.
